Hate Crimes for First Responders

Hate Crimes for First Responders is designed specifically for those officers who are responsible for responding to hate crimes/incidences and meets the training requirements outlined in PC 13519.6. It provides up to date information to assist officers in the safe and successful handling of hate and bias motivated crimes or incidents. Utilizing real-life scenarios, participants will discuss the unique dynamics of hate crimes/incidents.  

Curriculum highlights: 

  • Hate Crime vs. Hate Incident and related laws  
  • Investigating and reporting hate crimes/incidents  
  • Victim dynamics, preventing hate crimes/incidents, and community impact 
  • Typology of offenders 


Class is POST certified and covered under POST Plan IV.
