Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Museum of Tolerance. We currently offer the following opportunities.
-
Volunteer as an Educator
The Museum of Tolerance is proud to offer a robust volunteer program that engages adult volunteers as educators for the Museum’s visiting public.
All Volunteers will lead tours for visiting groups, most frequently students in grades 7-12 and adult groups. Following an extensive training program, Volunteers will be required to lead a minimum of one tour per week during the academic year (September – June) and are encouraged to contribute further hours if possible.
After beginning to lead tours, Volunteers may be eligible to train on other facets of the Museum’s educational offerings.
Volunteers join a vibrant Museum community as they contribute to educating the Museum’s thousands of visitors. Volunteers will have opportunity to engage in continued learning and training. Volunteers may also have the opportunity to attend special events at the Museum of Tolerance and Simon Wiesenthal Center.
Interested parties should contact volunteer@museumoftolerance.com. Volunteer applications will open in coming months, with an application link available here once applications are accepted.
-
Volunteer as a Witness to Truth Speaker
The Witness to Truth program offers volunteer positions to those qualified to speak to the public and special groups as a “witness to history.” This program has often included Holocaust survivors and their descendants, and those who have experienced other difficult historic and contemporary circumstances, including descendants of survivors of Japanese internment and the Rwandan genocide. Speakers play an important role in the institution, sharing their crucial stories, experiences, and testimonies with the visiting public, K-12 school groups, intern groups, law enforcement professionals, and educators.
If you are interested in becoming a Witness to Truth volunteer speaker, please contact volunteer@museumoftolerance.com, including a few sentences about your interest, background, and intended topic. New speakers are welcomed on a rolling basis following a successful interview and speaking demonstration.
Speaking engagements will be offered as available. Witness to Truth presentations are subject to regular review.
