Ordinary People, Extraordinary Stories

Step into the powerful stories of young people who lived through extraordinary times.

Book this Field Trip

This immersive field trip invites 5th- and 6th-grade students to discover history through the eyes of individuals—Anne Frank, students at the heart of the Mendez v. Westminster case, and Japanese Americans forced into internment camps during WWII.

Through diary excerpts, personal narratives, primary sources, and artifact analysis, students will explore themes of identity, resilience, and memory while practicing empathy and recognizing the dignity of each person’s story. Grounded in hands-on learning and rich discussion, this program helps students connect the past to their own lives and understand how individual experiences shape our collective history.

Bring the standards to life

This program aligns to California’s Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and History Social Science for 5th and 6th grade levels.
