Witness to Truth

This photographic installation honors Holocaust survivors who have shared their testimonies at the Museum of Tolerance. Pulitzer Prize–winning photojournalist Marissa Roth documents more than 100 survivors in black-and-white portraits, displayed along the Museum’s spiraling ramp.

Commissioned in 2005, the project preserves the presence of those who endured and whose voices continue to shape the Museum’s work.

For more than three decades, Holocaust survivors have volunteered at the Museum to speak about their experiences during World War II. Each year, more than 50,000 visitors hear from survivors and second-generation speakers, who serve as ambassadors of memory, hope, and tolerance.

This tradition continues through the Museum’s weekly in-person speaker series, offered every Sunday and included with admission.
