School Field Trips

Frequently Asked Questions (Youth Tours)


  1. Age recommendations: Holocaust Exhibit & Social Lab (7th+); Anne Frank Exhibit (5th+); Steps to Tolerance (5th–6th). We do not currently offer programming for students younger than 5th grade.
  2. Time in the Museum: Holocaust Exhibit/Social Lab tour typically runs three hours; adding Anne exhibition or survivor testimony adds time; Anne Frank alone is ~90 minutes (lunch break not included).
  3. Start times: earliest 8:30 AM; then every 30 minutes; last at 12:30 PM.
  4. Reservations: Please see the School Field Trips page to organize a tour
  5. Chaperones: 2 adults per 25 students.
  6. Preparation: Teacher Resources available.
  7. Lunch: no outside food allowed at the Museum; nearby parks recommended.
  8. Security: metal detector; prohibited items listed; backpacks restricted.
  9. Languages: limited multilingual docents by advance request.
  10. Grants: limited tickets for Title 1 schools (July–February).
  11. Restrooms: single‑stall/gender‑neutral available.
  12. Transportation funding: not offered; see suggested sources.
